Our new game Name the Countries is live: pick a region, type every country you can think of, and watch the map fill in, one country at a time. How many can you name before the clock runs out?
It starts easy - everyone knows France and Brazil - and then it gets interesting. Can you remember all the small island nations of the Caribbean?
How it works
- Just type. A correct name fills in on the map right away - no need to press Enter.
- Small countries score more than big ones, and correct answers in a row build a streak multiplier up to ×3.
- Tiny countries like Monaco or Nauru are marked with a dot, so you can see them light up too.
- Stuck? A hint lights up the biggest country you are missing and shows its first letter, for 50 points.
- When time runs out, every country you missed is revealed in red.
Pick your region
Start with South America (12 countries, 3 minutes) or Europe (45 countries), move on to Africa and Asia, and when you feel ready, take on all 195 countries of the world in 20 minutes. Prefer the USA? Name the States is the same game with all 50 US states.
Three ways to play
- Classic - name them all against the clock.
- Blitz - a short sprint, name as many as you can.
- Zen - no timer, play at your own pace.
Any language, any spelling
Country names work in English and in all nine site languages, with or without accents, and common alternatives like Holland, Burma or Czechia count too. Every region has its own leaderboard, your best scores are saved on your device, and every round earns GeoFunGames points.
