How to play Geo Conquest
Geo Conquest is a free multiplayer geography game on a map of Europe. Two to four players take turns picking a country next to their own land and answering a quick geography question to take it. Win a rival's country and it changes colour; lose yours and it is gone. After 8 rounds the player with the most points rules Europe.
Rules and scoring
- Every player starts with two countries. On your turn, pick a country that borders yours (islands are linked by sea).
- Unclaimed country: answer one multiple-choice question right and it is yours.
- A rival's country: you both answer. If you are right and they are wrong, you take it. Both right? A number question decides: the closest guess wins.
- Most countries are worth 1 point, the big ones 2 and Russia 3. Miss your 20 second pick clock and your turn is skipped.
Quick match, friends room or practice
Quick match finds two rivals near your level for a ranked game that moves your rating. A friends room is a private game for 2 to 4 players: send the link and pick the rounds and the clock. Practice puts you against two friendly GeoBots, and you can challenge a player from the weekly table to a ranked 1v1 duel.
More than 20 kinds of questions
Flags, capitals, country shapes, borders, cities, famous landmarks and dishes, currencies, languages, rivers, internet domains, which country is bigger and which capital lies further north. The same kind of question never comes twice in a row, so every battle feels different.
Tips to win
- Big countries are worth double. Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Ukraine and Turkey swing a game.
- Free land is the safest pick early on. Attack rivals when you know you can answer.
- Defending counts as much as attacking: every answer you get right on their turn keeps your score.
- For number questions, think in round numbers: Europe is about 4,000 km wide.
Frequently asked questions
Is Geo Conquest free?
Yes. It is free in your browser on phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play quick matches, rooms and practice as a guest. An account keeps your rating, points and name on every device.
How many players can play?
Two to four. Quick match is always 3 players, a friends room takes 2, 3 or 4, and duels are 1v1.
How do I play with friends?
Choose Play with friends, then send your room link on WhatsApp or any chat. Friends tap it and join you. You can fill empty seats with GeoBots.
What happens when both players answer right?
A number question decides, like the population of the country or the distance between two capitals. The closest guess wins, and an exact tie goes to the defender.
How does ranking work?
Quick matches and duels change your ELO rating. Beat stronger players to climb from Scout to Explorer, Navigator, Cartographer and Conqueror.
What if nobody else is online?
GeoBots fill the empty seats after a few seconds, so a quick match always starts.
Do I earn GeoFun points?
Yes. Every quick match, friends room or duel pays up to 25 GeoFun points: 15 for first place, plus a little for right answers and for countries you take from rivals. Practice pays a little for your first 3 games each day.
