There is a new area in Learn: World Currencies. It covers the currency of every country - the name, the ISO code, and the symbol - with real banknote images, all free and grouped into lessons you can finish in a few minutes.
If you have ever wondered what money people actually use in a country, this is the quick way to find out and remember it.
What each lesson teaches
- The currency name and its three-letter ISO code, like EUR, JPY, or BRL.
- The symbol you would see on a price tag, plus the year the currency came into use.
- A short description and a few fun facts, and a picture of a real banknote where we have one.
Region by region
There are 22 lessons covering close to 190 countries, so you can study one part of the map at a time: Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas and Oceania too. Shared currencies are part of the fun - you will see where the euro, the US dollar, and the two CFA francs turn up.
Test yourself
Every lesson ends with a quick quiz so the currencies actually stick. Read the cards, then see how many you can match. New to it? Europe is a good place to start.
