About Capital Hangman
Capital Hangman turns the classic word-guessing game into a fun way to learn the capital cities of the world. Instead of random words, every level is a real capital. The early levels stick to well-known cities, and each one you clear unlocks the next - so the names get longer and tougher the deeper you go. Reveal the capital letter by letter before you run out of lives, and work your way through the capitals of the world.
How to play
- Pick a level from the grid - each one is a different capital city.
- A hidden capital is shown as blank tiles, one per letter.
- Tap letters on the on-screen keyboard (or use your physical keyboard).
- Correct letters fill in every spot where they appear in the name.
- Each wrong letter costs one of your six lives for that level.
- Spell the capital to clear the level and unlock the next one.
Why play

- Quick to pick up, hard to put down - perfect for a brain break.
Capitals from every continent
The levels span the whole world. Early on you might be spelling out a familiar capital like Paris, Tokyo, Cairo or Ottawa, and later levels have you puzzling over Ouagadougou, Bratislava, Antananarivo or Thimphu. The number of tiles is a clue in itself: short names such as Lima, Oslo, Suva and Apia hide far fewer letters than Kuala Lumpur or Port-au-Prince.
How to guess capital cities faster
- Open with the common vowels. E, A, I and O turn up in almost every capital name.
- Once you can see the shape, test frequent consonants like N, R, S, T and L before anything risky.
- Watch for repeated letters - capitals like Tallinn, Ottawa and Ljubljana double up.
- Read the tile count. A short four or five-letter gap points you toward the likes of Lima, Cairo, Tokyo or Quito.
- Hold the rare letters (J, Q, X, Z) until the pattern gives you a reason to spend a life on them.
