About our world geography games
Every game on this page draws on the same set of countries, so what you learn in one carries into the rest. Recognise Paraguay in the map game and its flag stops being a coin toss. The formats differ on purpose: quizzes drill recall, the map games build a mental atlas, and the trivia rounds cover the physical geography that country quizzes never touch.
If you would rather revise before being tested, the lessons at the bottom of the page cover each continent in a readable format, every one ending with a short quiz.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many countries do the world games cover?
All 195 sovereign countries. Most games split them across difficulty levels, so the first level sticks to the widely known countries and later levels bring in the smaller ones.
Which world geography game should I start with?
World Capitals is the gentlest entry point, since most people already know a few dozen. The map and borders games are harder because they give you no names at all, and Guess the City is the toughest of the set.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Every game on this page opens and plays straight away. An account only matters if you want your scores saved to the leaderboards.
Are these games good for classrooms?
Yes. They need no logins or installs, work on school tablets, and the 1v1 games let two students share a single link. Teachers often use the continent hubs to match a game to whatever the class is covering.
Are the games free?
Yes, all the world games are free. A few of the deeper country packs are part of GeoFun+, and those are marked on the page.
Ready to take on the whole world?
Pick any game above and start. It takes about two minutes to find out how much of the map you actually know.
